The Milk District searches for mural artists for future projects

The Milk District is searching for local artists to be considered for upcoming mural projects in the Downtown Orlando neighborhood.

Artists are asked to submit work samples and biographies which will be shared with neighborhood businesses to commission murals. A growing body of research has identified murals with social, cultural, and economic benefits as well as positive mental health.

The District is committed to identifying a diverse set of artists with different styles as part of this process. “It’s important that the art in our neighborhood represents the full spectrum of styles, cultural traditions, and viewpoints of our Central Florida community,” said Milk District Executive Director Zac Alfson. “By providing this resource to our businesses and property owners, our goal is to demystify the process of installing artistic murals and continue to make the neighborhood an attractive place to live, do business in, and visit.”

Artists can submit online at https://forms.gle/tH4nc4xp8WiLhjyV9 by July 8, 2019.
